TFH Sales Contract

This is an agreement between Amanda Jean Dorn (Seller), and __________________________________(Buyer), for the purchase of the following: a Pygmy Goat or Barbados Blackbelly Sheep:

 I. Conditions of Sale. The price, ($_________), is conditional; depending upon the quality of the stated animal. Animals showing breeding potential will be priced as such. All bucks or rams must be wethered by 4 months of age if they have not been bought for breeding; in this case, the Buyer agrees that it is being purchased as a companion only, and no rights to breed this animal are being released.  I can also band the animal before you take it home.

The Seller requires verifiable proof of alteration that includes the name and address of the veterinary surgeon. If this animal is not altered by the stated time the Seller has the right to repossess the animal with no refund, or charge the buyer an additional $300.  

The seller maintains the right to retain any animal at any time.  All buyers will pay a non-refundable deposit of 70$ on each animal they want.  No animal will be paid for in full until it is picked up. No animal will be picked up unless the seller is present.

II. Health Guarantee. Although I guarentee a healthy animal at the time of sale, the stated goat or sheep should be examined by your own veterinarian within seven days of purchase. If at that time, and only that time, the animal is determined unhealthy, the Seller will replace the animal with one of equal value, or refund the purchase price upon it’s immediate return.  However, the cost of this visit, and any testing done is the responsibility of the buyer.  

Should the animal die in that time period and the veterinary check was not done, the seller will not take responsibility for the loss of the animal.

If this goat or sheep dies of a genetic defect within 2 years of age, confirmed by an autopsy and tissue pathology, the animal may be replaced with one of equal value, if, and when, available.  

Vaccination, herd testing (when required), and worming records will be sent with each sold animal. Each animal will be tagged and tattooed accordingly for proper identification.III. Care. The Buyer agrees that this goat or sheep is to have proper food, water, shelter, minerals, and loving attention provided.

Other responsibilities include: The animal should be wormed 6-8 weeks; or at least every 3 months, have its hooves trimmed regularly, and should be vaccinated yearly.  The Buyer further agrees that it will not be abused by humans or left to fend for itself, and will receive prompt veterinary attention when needed.

In the event of the buyer having to get rid of the said animal, he or she should contact the seller first, so we can make certain that the best situation is found for the animal, and not just a ‘quick solution’.
